Call on the candidates to support D.C. statehood with 51 votes in the Senate:

The over 700,000 residents of D.C., made up of mostly Black and Brown people, have been denied a vote in Congress because D.C. is not a state. Every presidential candidate should support D.C. becoming the 51st state with 51 votes in the Senate.

The path to statehood and full citizenship shouldn’t be blocked by archaic Senate rules like the filibuster. A simple majority of the U.S. Senate can grant full voting rights to  D.C. residents.

Urge Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and V.P. Joe Biden to join Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Mayor Mike Bloomberg, and Tom Steyer in supporting a real pathway to D.C. statehood:

17 former and current presidential candidates have endorsed D.C. statehood with 51 votes in the Senate including Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Mayor Mike Bloomberg, and Tom Steyer. Thank them for supporting a real pathway to D.C. statehood:
